Welcome to FitbizAre you the fittest company in Reading? What is Fitbiz? The Fitbiz Challenge UK has been designed to test the fitness levels and teamwork capabilities of
companies in cities around the country. How does it work?Teams of 3 must work together to complete a set of fitness, physical and mental challenges. For the first time we will be having three different team events. You can enter an all male team, an all female team or a mixed team. Teamwork is paramount as you will be given a set of activities, each carrying a different number of points, 10 minutes before the challenge starts. The important thing is that each member of your team must complete the activity for you to score any points. Your team will need to decide which of the challenges each of you can complete, and decide which activities will gain you the most points in the least time.
Remember, we will not reveal anything more about the activities until 10 minutes before the challenge starts, all we will tell you is that there will be between 15 and 20 activities for you to choose from, and you will have to figure the rest out for yourselves as a team. So, you needn’t be ultra-superfit to take part, you will also need to be good teamworkers and communicators, you need to know the strengths of your team and of course know your own limitations. There will be challenges suitable for all body types, not just super fast runners or mega strong body builders, you will need to master a range of skills if you are going to be crowned the FitBiz champions! So it’s about the team?Absolutely, working as a team will gain you far more points than those who may be individually very fit or strong, who do not complete challenges because their teammates couldn’t keep up. Remember, everyone in your team must complete the activity for you to score any points, so for example, 10 press ups may be worth a point, that means that each of your team must do the full 10 to score the point (30 press ups = 1 point), if one of you can’t finish the 10, then you go away with nothing and have wasted your energy, so planning is paramount. If you or your teammate can’t manage 10 press ups, then have a look at some of the other challenges and focus on them instead. You may decide that doing one challenge a number of times is a good plan, there will be a limit set on how many times you can complete one activity, but this could be a good way to rack up some points without having to move from activity to activity as the challenges may take some time to reach. Again this is where your all important team planning comes in. Remember you have exactly 30 minutes to get as many points as you can, part completed challenges do not count, so work together to keep an eye on the time as well. What do we need to do now?If you think you have what it takes to master the FitBiz Challenge, then you need to complete the (downloadable entry form ) and send it to us, along with your payment, then we suggest that you get together and do some training! Remember the challenge is not just about how fit you are, you will also need to know the strengths and weaknesses of your colleagues/team mates, so work out what type of activity you are good at, and those which you will need extra help to complete, devise some tactics for the day, and don’t forget to plan your victory celebrations…
